I DRAW TO MAKE OTHERS LAUGH
I'm John, The Artoonz Guy.
My art journey began as a creative child that loved painting. Over time, I explored different media, art foundations, and creative techniques. What started as a hobby became a way to connect with my mother and a way to connect with my own understanding of the world.
Then, life happened. I worked long hours in various industries and dedicated my time to raising my beautiful family.
Somewhere along the way, I made it a point to pause and enjoy the satisfaction of people watching--just walk through a parking lot and you'll know exactly what I mean! I saw every day experiences as more than just common, but hilarious and something to be exaggerated and then celebrated.
It just made sense that my perspective, personality, and sense of humor fit right in with the comedy style of caricature art. This realization lined up with my recent achievement of retirement, and now I am revisiting my more creative roots.
I'm inspired by the decades of laughter I enjoyed through MAD magazine. I'm fascinated by theme-park artists--they turn the art of drawing into a memorable experience!
Through my art, I'd like to bring a positive Christian message of joy, laughter, and inspiration.
